Frustrated by the way your stamped concrete patio has aged?

Wondering if there’s a way to restore it without tearing it out and starting over?

At Roe Painting, we’ve coated and restored hundreds of concrete surfaces over the past 25 years, and this system has consistently delivered outstanding results: Westcoat 11/10.

In this article (and the video below), we’ll show you exactly how the Westcoat system works, where it shines, and what results you can expect.

What is the Westcoat 11/10 System?

The Westcoat 11/10 system is a professional-grade concrete coating solution for indoor or outdoor environments. It’s known for its:

  • Multi-layer approach: Includes primer, pigmented base coat, and polyurethane sealer.
  • High durability: Resists UV rays, chemicals, moisture, and heavy traffic.
  • Custom finish options: Available in gloss, satin, or matte, depending on the look you want. Can be stained for an aged or decorative look.
  • Versatile use: Ideal for both functional and decorative concrete applications.

Unlike basic coatings or DIY kits, the 11/10 system is designed to bond deeply with the concrete surface to deliver long-lasting results (easily lasting 10 or more years).

This system is especially effective for restoring stamped concrete because it revitalizes both the color and texture without sacrificing strength.

Best Applications for the Westcoat 11/10 System

This system is designed for both interior and exterior concrete. It is excellent for protecting concrete from spills and damage and improving the overall look of the concrete. Here’s where it performs best:

Residential Spaces

  • Stamped Concrete Patios: Bring color and texture back to life.
  • Walkways: Refresh and protect paths from wear and cracking.
  • Driveways: Add curb appeal and guard against oil, tire marks, and stains.
  • Pool Decks: Improve slip resistance and UV protection with a seamless finish.
  • Front Porches & Entryways: Create a welcoming, professional-looking entrance
  • Garages & Basements: For a clean, fresh look, and an easy-to-clean surface.

 Commercial Applications

  • Restaurant Patios: Upgrade high-use outdoor dining areas and protect them from sun and moisture.
  • Office & Retail Entrances: Make a strong first impression with durable, attractive surfaces.
  • Municipal Walkways: Protect high-traffic areas from weather and wear.
  • Outdoor Common Areas: Perfect for apartments, condos, or public spaces.
  • Pool Decks: Increase traction, lock out moisture, and improve UV resistance. A solar reflective application can help keep surfaces cool.

If the concrete is dull, damaged, or needs an upgrade, the Westcoat 11/10 system is one of the most reliable ways to restore and protect it while adding an elevated element of style and aesthetics.

How Roe Painting Restores Stamped Concrete with Westcoat’s 11/10 System

Step 1: Prepare the Concrete for a Strong, Seamless Finish

Every great concrete coating job starts with great prep. To ensure a long-lasting bond, we clean the surface thoroughly—removing dirt, oil, and old coatings. Depending on the space, we’ll use pressure washing or grinding to create the right texture.

If there are cracks or pits, we repair them with a specialized patching compound. This creates a smooth, even foundation for the coatings to adhere to—especially important when restoring decorative concrete like stamped finishes.

Step 2: Prime the Surface for Maximum Adhesion

We apply Westcoat EC-11, a water-based epoxy primer that enhances adhesion and prevents peeling or lifting down the road. This is the key to ensuring your new surface stands up to moisture, foot traffic, and everyday wear—whether indoors or out.

Step 3: Build a Flexible, Durable Base Layer

Once the primer is cured (typically 6 hours), we roll on two coats of the SC-10 pigmented base coat. This layer adds strength, flexibility, and a consistent appearance. It also locks in color and texture, helping to bring stamped or decorative concrete back to life.

For stamped concrete restoration, we color-match the base coat to blend beautifully with the original design—or to create a fresh new look.

Step 4: Seal for UV, Stain, and Slip Protection

The final step is applying Westcoat’s SC-65 polyurethane sealer. This topcoat adds:

  • UV resistance protects color from fading.
  • Stain protection from oil, water, and chemicals
  • Custom finish options like color, gloss, satin, matte, or stained.
  • Improved traction for safety underfoot
  • Durability to protect from scratching, cracking, and flaking from heavy traffic or impact.

This sealer doesn’t just protect—it enhances the appearance and makes maintenance easy.

Optional: Add a Layer for Extra Protection

In high-traffic or commercial areas, we may apply an extra coat of SC-65 for added strength and durability.

The Result: Restored Concrete That Looks New

The Westcoat 11/10 system is one of our go-to solutions for restoring stamped concrete. It revives color, texture, and durability—without replacing the slab. It’s also a great option for patios, garage floors, and pool decks where appearance and longevity matter.

Whether you are tired of faded concrete or looking to upgrade your surfaces, this system delivers.
