Yes. This process can be both messy and smelly. The preparation of the concrete includes grinding, which can produce dust, even though our grinder will be equipped with industrial vacuums. The grinding process is also loud, so this step can be disruptive. 

Most concrete coatings we use are solvent-based, which means they can produce a strong odor. While our crew will be equipped with proper respirators for safety, we recommend that you avoid the work area during application if you’re sensitive to strong smells.

We can discuss timing and make any necessary arrangements to keep you comfortable throughout the project.

The slipperiness of your coating depends on the type of coating you choose. Here's what you need to know:

• Some coatings can become slippery, particularly when wet.
  
  
• Slip-resistant coatings are available if this is a concern.
  
  
• A traction additive can be added to the final coat to improve slip resistance, but keep in mind that the more additives used, the harder the surface will be to clean.

Smaller cracks will be filled with a poured-in, quick-dry solution. Larger cracks will be V-grooved out and then filled in using a specialized, two-component mending solution that cures very quickly and can be ground smooth in 20 minutes.

Deep cracks will be backfilled with sand before using the same process. Spalled or damaged concrete will be ground to remove any loose material and provide a sound substrate before using the same mending solution to fill in the damaged areas.

We exclusively use professional-grade, industrial concrete coatings. Most of these are two-component systems that require specialized training and certification to apply correctly, ensuring a durable and long-lasting finish.

We don’t use the DIY or user-friendly coatings commonly available at retail stores because they don’t offer the same level of quality or durability.

The main difference between epoxy and polyurea lies in their chemical composition and application purposes. Here’s how they differ:

Epoxy:

• Traditionally used as a primer or base coat for concrete, metal, or wood surfaces.
• Applied to prepared surfaces to form the foundation of a coating system.
• Not used as a topcoat, as it can amber or chalk over time if exposed without a
  protective topcoat.

Polyurea:

• Can be used as both a base coat and a topcoat.
• Offers faster curing times, making it ideal for projects needing quick turnaround.
• Often applied over epoxy to create a coating system, with polyurea acting as the topcoat for enhanced durability and protection.

No, polyurea is not stronger than epoxy; both are similar in terms of strength, but they have different chemical compositions. Here are the key points:

• Strength: Polyurea and epoxy are comparable in strength, but their suitability depends
  on the specific application.
• Chemistry: Their chemical makeup is different, which influences their curing times,
  flexibility, and resistance properties.
• Use Cases: The right choice depends on the area’s needs (e.g., impact resistance, chemical resistance, heat or cold resistance), rather than one being inherently stronger.
• Marketing Influence: There has been a marketing push that downplays epoxy's
  strengths, but this is not based on performance differences.
